A.M.E.C. Autocross
Car Classification
The November 9, 2003 A.M.E.C. Autocross will be classed by the NASA classifications system (National Auto Sport Association see www.nasanortheast.com ). A.M.E.C. thanks NASA for allowing us to use their classing system.
Please find your car listed in one of the classes listed below (A-J). That is your starting point. If your car is stock that’s your class. If you have any modifications to your car look at the modifications/points adjustment section below and add up the number of points assessed to each modification you have.
15 to 29 points moves you up one class
30 to 44 points moves you up 2 classes
45 to 59 points moves you up 3 classes
60 to 74 points moves you up 4 classes
There is no limit, a car with a high level of modifications might move up several classes.
If you have any questions on classes please call AMEC’s Tech inspector Bruce Carlton (518) 885 5048.
All participants are responsible for the classing of their car. We will not be checking classes in tech, only safety items. You will remain as classed throughout the autocross unless someone protests your classification. Please be honest and try and classify your car correctly.
Thanks,
The AMEC Autocross committee.
